Savannah

What can we say about Savannah other than we simply didn’t have enough time to see all it offers. We had two nights but only one full day to explore. Unfortunately, one of my kids went down hard with a major migraine, and this impeded our ability to get the most out of our second day there. However, I did live vicariously through my parents, who did some exploring on our behalf.

During our trip, we stayed at The Westin Hotel and took a charming ferry across the water to River Front Street. The view of the entire city from across the water was breathtaking. River Street was bustling with cobblestone streets, shops, restaurants, and people. We especially enjoyed the trolley tour, as it allowed us to hop on and off at our leisure and explore the town’s historic landmarks and sights. The architecture and buildings from a different era were genuinely fascinating.

Our trip to Savannah was a family affair, and we found the city to be incredibly accommodating for all ages. We dined at Treylor Park, a family-friendly restaurant that offered a ‘double wide dog’ with all the fixings, and creative takes on classic Southern cuisine. Another favorite spot was Savannah Tequila Company, where we enjoyed a delightful dinner with great food and drinks while overlooking the water. The sight of a massive cargo ship passing by as we dined was truly remarkable. Savannah is known for great restaurants and dining, and we found many family-friendly options during our trip. We highly suggest doing your research on additional places to go (we can help with that!).

Broughton Street charmed us with its array of shops and fantastic eateries. Additionally, we visited some excellent art museums showcasing the impressive works of SCAD students, which perfectly combined historical and contemporary culture.

There is a lot to do in Savannah, whether you have a day or two or a week. We can help tailor the perfect trip experience for you and yours.
